OHW Junior Fair Board

JFB provides our youth the opportunity to learn all about our fair, running community events, the power of volunteering, all while gaining leadership skills. Members will have the chance to bring a younger perspective and help the Old Home Week Board of Directors appeal more to the youth in Carleton County. The JFB will be encouraged to use their creativity in developing new activities for the fair.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend JFB meetings (dates TBD)

  • Run youth focused activities during the fair

  • Organize and host at least 1 event on behalf of Old Home Week, outside of fair week

  • Participate in at least 1 volunteer activity, in the community, as a representative of the fair, outside of fair week

  • Contribute volunteer service hours pre-Fair, during the fair, and post-Fair as needed

  • Join one subcommittee

  • Help recruit youth to participate in fair activities

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Ability to plan, lead and participate in appropriate projects/activities

  • Ability to work well with others

  • Be reliable and dependable

  • Exercise mature judgement and decision making

  • Have a positive and helpful attitude

  • Show enthusiasm when serving the community
